Senators at CanAm

Aug 15, 2014 - The Senators O45 squad played two games at CanAm in Saranac Lake on 1st August. The first game, funnily enough, was against old rivals Belleville. This turned out to be an enjoyable, closely-fought battle, with a final score of 5--5. The Senators would have won the game at this point had Captain and self-appointed kicker Mark Patterson not fluffed the conversion from infront of the posts! The game went into overtime, sudden death. Again, it was stalemate, until the Senators gave away a penalty on the halfway line, Captain Patterson mouthed-off to the referee and another 10 metres was given, putting the penalty into kicking range. Belleville kicked the penalty and won the game. Patterson was awarded the Shirt of Shame for his contribution...!

The second game saw a battered and bruised Senators play against Lockport, who had narrowly lost to Brockport in their first game. This turned out to be a game too far for the Ottawa Old Boys, with Lockport running away with it in the final 10 minutes.
