Senators slog it out in Kingston

Sep 23, 2013 - The Captain, Warren Clifford, reports (translated and edited in parts from Afrikaans to English by Nathan Harris):

Yesterday we played Kingston on a waterlogged pitch and unfortunately were
unable to come away with a victory, the final score being 4 tries to 2.
Alex Cassol had a try disallowed as the ref deemed he knocked the ball on
even though apparently it only went forward after he dotted it down! Geoff Lewis also had a try disallowed when he was judged to have stepped on the touch line during his tank-like charge down the wing. Bona fide Senators tries were scored by Warren Clifford and Chris Begley. Given the fact that at least 3 of Kingston's tries were due to missed tackles, the outcome could have been different. Well done guys, we really stepped it up in the second half!

Thanks to Matty Thorpe for playing 8th man for the second half after Shawn DeBow could not run anymore after pulling his hamstring kicking before the game - note to forwards, leave the kicking to the backs! Thanks also to Tom Milroy who played when most of our subs did not show up and our coach/No.8 was stuck on the [ed. toilet]!
