Aug 4, 2011 - The Senators took their second championship in a row as the Senators and Friends took the finals 8-0 over the Conneticut Grays in the 45 and over division of the Can-Am Tournament in Saranac Lake. The Senators had lots of help as they were joined by members of the Ottawa Indians, Bytown Blues, Kingston, Belleville, St. Annes and others as they won the first 2 games on Friday before taking the Grays in a hard fought match. On Friday we squeaked out a victory on the last play of the game in a game against the Commissioners of Fun with a 7-0 victory. Next saw us take on the Beach Hawaiians in more comfortable game that saw us run in 4 tries to there one. A great time was had by all and we hope to make it three in a row next year. In other matches the former Myths and Legends entered as the Father + Sons and almost got into two finals. They won in the 50 and over division with a close game against the Virginia Cardinals and eked out a 8-6 victory. They almost advanced to the final round in the Social Division when they gave away the game to Belleville Bulldogs and then the Dogs went onto win in the Sunday finals. Congratulations to all who helped both the Senators and Father + Son teams to well deserved glory!
