Oct 15, 2010 - Last week we had a great turnout for our International Match against Woskeag. That was the combination team from Amoskeag and Worcester. The party started on Friday night when we hosted them with our drinking team at Darcy Macgees. They appreciated the band and the Women's Stag that we arranged for the lads. Game day was bright and sunny for most of the Senators but maybe not for all of the boys from down south. We kept telling them that Canadian beer isn't the same as Bud Lite!
It was the Woskeag lads who drew first blood though as the Senators let them slip one in early. Not to be out done Scott Fortier answered back to draw even at the end of the first half. Credit new man Sam Laggis with good down field pressure. Captain Dan Kline gave an emotional speech at half time when he said something like this - "Don't let me start yelling like Darren." That turned us around and we put in 2 in the second frame. Mark Patterson was credited with falling over the goal line twice but it was a total team effort. After the match we had our International Capping Ceremony where we presented there team with a cap for everyone who played that day. Another great tour. Next year we will return thwe favour at the end of October. (Note Senators caps are available for $15 from Al Rose. - He will have them at Choir practice which is held every Tuesday at the Arrow and Loon, starting at 8:22pm onward. Join us even if you can't sing.)
