Welcome

The United Towns Pirates (United Towns Minor Hockey Association) would like to welcome you to our website. This website has been designed to provide up-to-date information regarding our teams. This information, which includes sport reports, schedules, and announcements, is important to all players, coaches, and fans.

Thank you,
- United Towns Pirates

Registrations for the new hockey season are still being accepted.

All registrations will now be handled by the Registrar (Rhonda Savoury) only. Anyone wishing to register can contact Rhonda at 832-1064 or wade.rhonda@eastlink.ca

Registration this year will be $300 for Pre-novice and Novice divisions and $340 for all other divisions. The reason for the rate increase is due to the early start to the hockey season. This year we are scheduled to start on October 6th - one month early!

Parents will also have the option of paying an additional fee and opting out of all fundraising activities.

Here are some important messages for parents, coaches and officials for the upcoming hockey season:

- For the 2013-2014 hockey season Parents should be aware that at least ONE parent of all hockey players must complete the Parent Program on the Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador website before their child can be registered for this season. You can find the link below. It costs $12.00 and you need a credit card or PayPal account to register. When you log on write your log-on information on a piece of paper in case you don't finish the course right away. You have up to 30 days to complete it. It only takes approximately 1 hour. For any additional help call Len Peach @ 832-2007(home) or 832-5554 (cell).

- All new referees this year will have to complete a 8 hour course which consists of a 4 hour e-learning through Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador, 4 hours in class and ice-time combined. In order to do the second part the e-learning must be completed and proof brought to the second part before you can be registered. More details will come after the September meetings of HNL. By this time they should have the on-line e-learning available.

- The "Jumpstart Program" (www.canadiantire.ca/jumpstart) is available again for funding for families who qualify call Rhonda Savoury at 832-1064. All inquiries are strictly confidential. The "Kidsport" program is also available - details at www.kidsport.nl.ca. NOTE: Those who qualify for one of the above programs must still register with UTMHA.
