The Confedration Skyhawks swept both Volleyball P.E.I. Bantam Boys Provincial Championships this week. The Skyhawks won the six-team tier two championship on Monday at East Wiltshire and then followed that up to take the four-team tier one title on Tuesday at M.E. Callaghan.

In the tier one championship, the Skyhawks defeated the previously unbeaten Charlottetown Kings 25-13 to claim their first tier one championship. The West Prince Islanders claimed the bronze medal with a 22-17 win over Red Mudd.

The four-person All-PEI team was made up of Brendan Smith (West Prince Islanders), Jeremy Thompson (Charlottetown Kings), Stephen Saviour (Confederation Skyhawks) and Logan Gallant (Red Mudd).

The Skyhawks advanced to the finals with a 26-14 victory over Red Mudd while the Kings got by the West Prince Islanders 25-14 to advance.

The Charlottetown Kings finished the double-round robin portion of the tournament in first place with a perfect 6-0 record. Red Mudd and Confederation Skyhawks tied for second with 3-3 records but Confederation Skyhawks was awarded second due to the points differential tie-breaker. The Skyhawks had beaten Red Mudd 23-16 (+7) while losing 21-18 (-3).

The finals in the tier two championship was a barn-burner. The lead exchanged hands on numerous occasions before the Skyhawks prevailed with a 22-21 win. Red Mudd clobbered the West Prince Islanders 32-8 to claim the bronze medal.

The All-PEI team was made up of Lucas Clow (Confederation Skyhawks), Alex Orasuk (Red Mudd), Andrew Gough (West Prince Islanders), Ben Smith (Summerside Slammers), James Murphy (Kensington Crusaders) and Chet MacLean (Charlottetown Kings).

The round-robin standings was the Skyhawks finish with a 5-0 record. They were followed by the Summerside Slammers (3-2), Red Mudd (3-2), West Prince Islanders (2-3), Charlottetown Kings (1-4) and Kensington Crusaders (1-4). The Slammers were awarded second place due to their 26-14 win over Red Mudd. Charlottetown Kings finished in fiftb with their 30-11 win over the Kensington Crusaders.
